Navjot Singh, the artist behind Canvas and Tales
The Artist

Navjot Singh

Canvas and Tales is the heartfelt creation of Navjot Singh, a Michigan-based artist and engineer who turned a personal passion into a lifelong calling.

Drawing from childhood memories, sacred scriptures, and the timeless beauty of the Old Masters, Navjot paints stories that breathe. Each canvas is a portal — to forgotten eras, quiet spirituality, and the unspoken depths of the human soul. With delicate brushwork and vivid emotion, his portraits, cultural scenes, and mythological works invite you to pause, feel, and remember.

Trained in precision yet guided by heart, Navjot also handcrafts every custom frame, making each piece a complete, immersive experience.

The Practice

Emotion, History and Storytelling

“My portfolio is a curated collection of original oil and acrylic works that blend emotion, history, and storytelling. From majestic portraits and wildlife to mythological battles and spiritual reflections, each piece reflects my passion for fine detail, layered technique, and narrative depth.”

— Navjot Singh

Tributes to the Old Masters

Some paintings are personal renditions of public-domain masterpieces — Caravaggio’s The Incredulity of Saint Thomas becomes The Gathering of Saints; Albert Bierstadt’s The Last of the Buffalo becomes The Last Buffalo.

They are not reproductions, but an artistic homage reimagined through Navjot’s own perspective and style.

“Art doesn’t just hang on the wall — it whispers, teaches, and stays with you.”

— Canvas and Tales
